About the Homework                         Assignments                   HOME

It is very important that you understand the homework problems. Discussing with other students is encouraged as long as you really comprehend what you are doing. Copies from others or from the manual will not be accepted.

How the homework will be graded: Only 1 to 3 problems will be checked in detail by the instructor. The grade will be based on these problems’s work and answer, and also on the completeness of all the problems. It is very important that you SHOW YOUR WORK. Explain clearly and briefly the steps you follow and why. If only the answer is given you will have no points.

The homework assignments will be announced in the webpage and in the lecture.

Data: Qtot=+2.4 microC                               Unknowns: # of electrons removed

Solution: I have to remove (Qtot / e)  electrons:

Qtot / e = 2.4 x 10-6 C / 1.6 x 10-19 C =    1.5 x 1013 electrons
